"Listen to My Photographs" is a four-week workshop designed to teach young women the art of storytelling through photography, language, and writing. Organized by Ani Rivera, Executive Director of AIRSpace Gallery, along with Mari Jean Champaigne and Maddy Keating, the workshop took place at The Care Center in Holyoke, Massachusetts, in July 2025.

Participants were introduced to the tools of photographic image-making, providing them with new ways to express themselves while also developing skills in camera work. Over 10 enthusiastic students took part, gaining valuable experience in using D-SLR and film cameras, creating cyanotype prints, writing about their photographs, and editing digital files on Canva.

This exhibition serves as a powerful platform to foster community and provide young mothers with essential exposure. It empowers them in their personal lives and careers, helping them transition successfully after their time at The Care Center.

We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from Northampton Open Media, Archival Matters, Inc., The Care Center, The Amherst Cultural Council, A.P.E. Ltd. Gallery, the GCC print lab, and everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe campaign, making this exhibition a reality.
